Storefront

A complete shop UI with no commerce provider bound — and the one function that binds one.
The store surface is a headless storefront. Everything a shop's interface needs is here — collections, search, galleries, variants with per-option pricing and availability, a currency selector and a working cart — and none of it requires a credential, because the catalog is read from the filesystem and the cart lives in the browser. There is exactly one function to implement: Until it is implemented, the cart says so in the interface rather than being a button that silently does nothing. Two smaller seams sit beside it: lines, which reads from localStorage and could read from the provider's cart so a basket follows a customer between devices, and rates, an illustrative table that a real integration replaces with per-currency prices from the provider. One MDX file per product under src/content/placeholder/products/, and one catalog.json for the parts that belong to the shop rather than to a product — collections, the hero campaign, testimonials, the announcement banner and the size guides. Variants are derived from the option axes rather than authored one by one. With three colours and seven sizes nobody writes twenty-one blocks, and the ones they forget become the bugs: prices on an axis reprices per value, so a licence tier costs what it costs without every colour repeating the number. images on a colour axis swaps the gallery when that colour is selected.
